Change of Topic

For the next month or so, I'll be taking a break from talking about YA--on the blog. I still represent YA, am still looking for YA, and still love my YA clients. But I've been going nonstop on the blog about YA for about a year, so it's time for a genre switch. All my Wednesday Reads will be Adult Paranormal Romance or Urban Fantasy. All my discussion topics will revolve around the same genres.

From you, dear reader, I'd like to get a list of your favorite ParaRom and UF novels (to add to my already ridiculous TBR pile).

Also, any topics you would like to see addressed or discussed, please leave comments, suggestions, and questions in the comments of this post.

Happy writing!

Nora Robert's Circle Trilogy and her Sign of Seven Trilogies are great.

I also liked The Accidental Demon Slayer by Angie Fox.

My brother just got me started reading books by Jim Butcher. His Dresden Files series have a unique voice.

If you like Butcher [who's great', you would also like a new writer, Kevin Hearne who has the Iron Druid series. He's just as funny as Butcher.

My two favorites (which I'm sure you've already read), are:

Patricia Brigg's "Mercy Thompson" series. I *love, love, love* the character arcs and development in this series of books.

Gail Carriger's "Parasol Protectorate" series. I love her riffs on different themes in each book, and that they're both fluffy and deep at the same time.

So many , it's hard to figure out where to start. Let's see, my favs...

Gena Showalter's LORDS OF THE UNDERWORLD series (PR)

J.R. Ward's BLACK DAGGER BROTHERHOOD series (PR)

Jeaniene Frost's NIGHT HUNTRESS series (you'll love Cat and Bones!) (UF w/ romance)

K. A. Stewart's A DEVIL IN THE DETAILS. Her new book, A SHOT IN THE DARK is the second in this UF series (no romance).

Additional authors, Christine Feehan, Patricia Briggs, Kresley Cole.

EVERYTHING by Patricia Briggs (especially the Mercy Thompson and Alpha and Omega series).

Ilona Andrews--especially her (/their) MAGIC BITES series: post-apocalyptic UF. :)

CE Murphy has a great UF series called URBAN SHAMAN

Faith Hunter's SKINWALKER series

Gail Carriger is Victorian UF with a steampunk flair. Very cool.

Kim Harrison's DEAD WITCH WALKING series (ongoing--you've got some catching up to do)

Jeanine Frost's Night Huntress series is very fun (starts with HALFWAY TO THE GRAVE)

So many books, so little time.

How could I have forgotten Tanya Huff's "The Enchantment Emporium"? I've only read it 20+ times this year!

I highly recommend Ilona Andrew’s Kate Daniels Series and the Edge series.

I also really enjoy the October Daye Novels by Seanan McGuire and Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series.

Ah, how I love these genres. My list could go on and on!

Four big favorites I haven't seen mentioned yet are Kelley Armstrong (start with Bitten), Charlaine Harris (of TrueBlood fame), Carrie Vaughn (about Kitty the werewolf, starting with Kitty and the Midnight Hour) and Jennifer Estep (about a magical assassin).

I also like Kalayna Price, Keri Arthur, Rachel Caine, Mark del Franco, Jeanne Stein, Richelle Mead, Nalini Singh, and Stacia Kane.

And to echo others, I also love Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Gail Carriger, and Kresley Cole.

Hope I didn't go too overboard. :)
